Arshia Maljaei (b. 1993, Tehran, Iran) is a visual artist and photographer based in Berlin. He holds an MA in Photography from the University of Europe for Applied Sciences in Berlin. Arshia works with photography, text, video, sound, and books, often combining these forms in his projects. His work has been shown in different countries. His art is inspired by everyday moments, personal encounters, and family images. He began his creative journey making short films and is especially interested in how small details from the past can connect personal and collective experiences. Portrait photography is an important part of his practice, and he often blends images with words to tell visual stories.
